What does “good ecological status” mean for our waters and why is it a goal that is important to reach?

This short film gives a clear and succinct answer by emphasising the essential value of a healthy aquatic ecosystem for all life on the planet.

The film was realised through the EU MARS Project in close collaboration with the scientists Dr. Christian Feld and Dr. Sebastian Birk from the University of Duisburg-Essen. It was financed by the European Union under the 7th framework programme.

Published in English, German and Hebrew, the film is screened internationally at various symposiums on the topic of water protection and made available through numerous online platforms. It serves as a teaching tool within academia and is targeted at the general public with the aim of promoting good ecological status.
